Be careful who you hang out with

Let's take a look at Proverbs 10. You will see two groups of people described; the righteous and the wicked. Let's take a look:
Not making momma proud.

[Proverbs 10:1 KJV] "The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother."

Simply put, make your mother proud.

[Proverbs 10:2 KJV] "Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death."

[Proverbs 10:3 KJV] "The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked."

[Proverbs 10:4 KJV] "He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich."

This isn't talking about a poker hand. This is talking about how you go about your work, or how you go about looking for work.

[Proverbs 10:5 KJV] "He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame."

[Proverbs 10:6 KJV] "Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked."

[Proverbs 10:7 KJV] "The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot."

[Proverbs 10:8 KJV] "The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall."

You're hearing these proverbs right now. They apply to you. Hear them.
[Proverbs 10:9 KJV] "He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known."

[Proverbs 10:10 KJV] "He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall."

[Proverbs 10:11 KJV] "The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked."

[Proverbs 10:12 KJV] "Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins."

How does love cover all sins? John 3:16. Jesus. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

[Proverbs 10:13 KJV] "In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding."
[Proverbs 10:14 KJV] "Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction."

[Proverbs 10:15 KJV] "The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty."

[Proverbs 10:16 KJV] "The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin."

Think about what you did over the last week. Is it helping you in life or hurting you?

[Proverbs 10:17 KJV] "He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth."

These proverbs? They are your reproof. Do not refuse them!

[Proverbs 10:18 KJV] "He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool."

[Proverbs 10:19 KJV] "In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise."

[Proverbs 10:20 KJV] "The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth."

[Proverbs 10:21 KJV] "The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom."

God's word contains all the wisdom you need. If you are seeking direction in life, you have come to the right source. Pick up a Bible, and read a chapter in the Book of Proverbs, any chapter.
[Proverbs 10:22 KJV] "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it."

[Proverbs 10:23 KJV] "It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom."

Run from people who want to involve you with crimes, with drinking, with drugging.
[Proverbs 10:24 KJV] "The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted."

[Proverbs 10:25 KJV] "As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation."

[Proverbs 10:26 KJV] "As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him."

Be somebody that people can trust. Be somebody that people can rely on.

[Proverbs 10:27 KJV] "The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened."

This is not to say every single person who does the will of God lives long, and the wicked live a short life. But, rather, it talks about adding to, or taking from, the days you have been given. Is smoking going to add five years to your life, or take years from it? How about alcoholism? Is that going to extend your life, or shorten it?
[Proverbs 10:28 KJV] "The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish."

The moment you die, what is the next thing you expect to see?

[Proverbs 10:29 KJV] "The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity."

Romans 6:23 says it like this: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

[Proverbs 10:30 KJV] "The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth."

[Proverbs 10:31 KJV] "The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out."

[Proverbs 10:32 KJV] "The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness."

The righteous. The wicked. These get mentioned a lot in the proverbs. Do you realize that it is 100% in your power to choose which group you belong to? You choose daily to be the righteous. You choose daily to be the wicked. You choose Heaven or Hell.

Choose now.

[Romans 10:9 KJV] "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
[Romans 10:10 KJV] "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
