Making all things new

We have before us a new year. Let's take a look at some Bible "New"s.

[Jdg 5:8 KJV] They chose new gods; then [was] war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?

Back in the book of Judges, the lament was that Israel had walked away from God, and war then filled the land. In our day, have we not seen America walk away from God? Yes, we have. We don't like the God of the Bible anymore. Not in America.

[Isa 42:9 KJV] Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

[Isa 48:6 KJV] Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare [it]? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.

So what sort of things has God revealed?

A new heaven and a new earth

[Isa 65:17 KJV] For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

[Isa 66:22 KJV] For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

[2Pe 3:13 KJV] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

[Rev 21:1 KJV] And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

New every morning

[Lam 3:22-23 KJV] [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.

Each day you wake up is a brand new day on which you write your story. How much new a new year full of days?

A new creation, a new man

[2Co 5:17 KJV] Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Doesn't that sound like a great way to start out a new year? New year, new man, new creation.

Your new year can start right now

[Rev 3:20 KJV] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

[Rom 10:9 KJV] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[Rom 10:10 KJV] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

How to live as a new creation

[Eph 4:22 KJV] That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
[Eph 4:23 KJV] And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
[Eph 4:24 KJV] And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
[Eph 4:25 KJV] Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
[Eph 4:26 KJV] Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
[Eph 4:27 KJV] Neither give place to the devil.
[Eph 4:28 KJV] Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
[Eph 4:29 KJV] Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
[Eph 4:30 KJV] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
[Eph 4:31 KJV] Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
[Eph 4:32 KJV] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

A promise

[Rev 21:5 KJV] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
